Siberian Cat

The Siberian took shape in the forests of Russia, a natural landrace bred by nothing but hard winters long before anyone called it a breed. It worked farms and monasteries, and kept the body for it: a triple coat, a barrel chest, and hindquarters strong enough to clear a wardrobe without a run-up. Living with one means living with a cat that treats doors and water as problems, not boundaries.

Each portrait is an original watercolour: confident, visible brushstrokes on cold-press paper, in the tradition of natural-history illustration rather than smoothed-over digital art. Real paper grain, real pigment variation, the occasional soft bloom where wet colour met wet colour.

The portrait works in three coat layers, guard hairs over down, so the Siberian keeps the density that got it through a Russian winter.
