How It Works
Every piece here is a watercolour portrait of an animal — visible brushwork on cold-press paper, in the tradition of natural-history illustration rather than smoothed-over digital art. You can take one that is already painted, or send us a photograph and we will paint yours.
Take one that is already painted
- Choose your companion. The Permanent Collection holds every portrait we have ever painted. Nothing is ever retired from it.
- Choose the coat colour. Most portraits are painted in several colourways — golden, black, cream, brown — so you can match the picture to the animal you actually know. Each one is a separate painting, not the same image recoloured.
- Choose a print or a download. Then it is either in your inbox in seconds, or on its way to your door.
Commission your own pet
- Upload a photograph. Any breed, any age, any pose - one clear, well-lit photo is all we need. It attaches to your order on the commission page; there is nothing to email afterwards.
- We paint it in watercolour. Your photograph becomes a watercolour portrait in the same hand as everything else on these walls, and a person reviews it before anything is printed.
- Choose how you want it. A print-ready download, an archival poster, or both - and the finished portrait is yours to own.
A commission belongs to the person who ordered it. We do not resell it, relist it or add it to the collection, and your photograph is used only to paint that one portrait.
How the portraits are made
We should be straightforward about this. Each portrait begins with AI image generation trained on traditional watercolour technique, and every single one is then reviewed, corrected and curated by us before it is offered for sale. Nothing is a generic template with a name swapped in, and nothing goes on the wall without a human deciding it is good enough to hang.

Where your poster is printed
Orders inside Europe are printed by OPT OnDemand in Prague, Czechia. Orders for the United States are printed by Today's Graphics in Philadelphia. Printing near the destination means no ocean freight and a poster that spends days in transit rather than weeks. An EU order stays inside the EU customs union and a US order stays domestic, so neither pays duty — the UK, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Iceland sit outside that union and may be charged import VAT. Full detail is on the shipping page.
If something goes wrong
If anything arrives damaged, faulty or wrong, we replace it at our cost and you do not post anything back. And if you simply change your mind, you have 14 days from delivery to withdraw from the order — withdraw from contract here. The returns page explains both, and where the narrow exceptions for commissions and downloads apply.
