Sable & Ochre began with a simple idea: the animals we love deserve better than a phone photo buried in a camera roll.

Every piece we make starts as an original watercolour portrait - loose, confident brushwork on cold-press paper, in the tradition of natural-history illustration rather than a smoothed-over digital rendering. We paint the coat, the expression, the small details that make a particular animal unmistakably itself, not a generic template with a name swapped in.

From there, you choose how you'd like to bring it home: an instant digital download for printing yourself, or a museum-quality archival matte poster, printed on heavyweight, fade-resistant paper built to hold its colour for decades. EU orders are printed in Czechia; US and Canadian orders are printed in Philadelphia - wherever you are, your piece is produced close to you, not shipped across an ocean.
