Corgi

A Corgi is a full-sized herding dog that someone forgot to give full-sized legs. Bred in Wales to drive cattle - nipping at heels and ducking the kick - they are quick, bold and far more athletic than the shape suggests. What people fall for is the contrast: a fox's face and a working dog's brain, carried around on eight inches of leg with complete and unshakable dignity.

Each portrait is an original watercolour: confident, visible brushstrokes on cold-press paper, in the tradition of natural-history illustration rather than smoothed-over digital art. Real paper grain, real pigment variation, the occasional soft bloom where wet colour met wet colour.
